Camberwell Traders and SE5 Forum

Camberwell Traders Association was formed in 1995 with the ambition of getting  CCTV security installed throughout Camberwell town centre. A campaign was set; local businesses came together and in a very short time the necessary money was raised to seed fund the project which was then further financed through grants and local authority support of Southwark.

SE5 Forum took over the role of managing Camberwell Traders' affairs in 2007 and is committed to expanding membership beyond Camberwell Green, where it has been concentrated in the past.  Businesses as far afield as White Hall Clothiers, Bob's Bicycles on John Ruskin Street, and the old Post Office (as it then was) on Peckham Road, are all welcome to join and explain what we can do to help them.  Every Camberwell trader is welcome to register in our Business Directory by supplying their details to the Board.

SE5 Forum are consulting on a Business Manifesto  which seeks to make sure basic planning strategy for SE5 is in place to make sure grants for shopping areas are effective.  Read more here.  Please let us know about any ways in which you think the Forum or local Council can help local business.  In these credit crunch times we are particularly interested in solutions which involve little additional expense for Councils, such as a change in policy rather than an application for grant funding.
