SE5 Forum Success Story - Cross-Border Crime Fighting

Wayne Chance, the new Met Southwark Borough Commander, has now endorsed and pledged resources to improving crime fighting across Lambeth and Southwark.

A member of SE5 Forum who was attending a Safer Neighbourhoods Team panel meeting highlighted the problem of crime in Lambeth SE5 which flourished in a area where cross border coordination in policing was in early stages.  As a result of this a Southwark Safer Neighbourhood team liaised with their Lambeth opposite numbers and a crime connection between the two boroughs was identified and is being dealt with.

A specific Camberwell Community Council meeting held on Tuesday 16th June will be addressing cross border working.  Please see our Safety section for details on other neighbourhood initiatives.
